HIKING TOURS

HIKE-IN CAMPING PACKAGE:

Two mountain lakes in the Sooke Hills,
     3 day hike with 2 nights camping
     at one lake.
The lakes have wild cutthroat trout.
Trip requires hiking in rough terrain
     with backpacks and equipment.
Some camping equipment may be carried
     part way to lakes with 4-wheel
     drive all terrain vehicle (ATV or quad).
Maximum 4 persons.
The lakes are approximately 2000 feet
     or more elevation.
Camping equipment and meals [gourmet
     fresh foods not freeze-dried] supplied
     (bring your own pack and sleeping bag or
     we may be able to supply).
Fishing optional. Fishing licence extra.
1 person $550; 2-3 persons $385 per person;
     4 persons $365 per person.

Extra option: one extra day and night with
     camping at a third lake which has stocked
     rainbow trout. Extra cost per person $110.
     This includes a hike with packs and
     equipment over rugged, but scenic
     mountain tops between the lakes. There is no
     specific trail; we follow existing animal tracks.
     This is a wilderness hike for fit and active persons only.

JUAN DE FUCA MARINE TRAIL PACKAGE TOUR:

China Beach to Botannical Beach
     - 47km - complete trail.
Wilderness hike for fit and active persons only.
     Some sections particularly
     between Bear Beach, Chin Beach and
     Sombrio Beach are continuously up
     and down into ravines and it can be
     very challenging.
Be prepared for sudden weather changes
     including hot sun, heavy fog, and/or rain.
Includes drop off and pick up at trail heads.
4 nights / 5 days hiking and camping on trail.
Fully guided hike.
All hiking meals catered. Includes dinner for
     two at local restaurant.
Bring your own pack, tent, and sleeping bag;
     we supply the rest.
2 persons $1500.

Options:

China Beach to Sombrio Beach - 3 nights / 4 days
     2 persons $1100.
Pick up and drop off at Victoria Ferry, Victoria
     Airport, University of Victoria or Inner
     Harbour $80.

JUAN DE FUCA MARINE TRAIL
Self Hike / We Set Up Camp and Cook:

You hike the trail. We make camp including tents, campfire, prepare evening meal and breakfast. Our guides will go ahead using short cuts and trail heads. All you carry are day packs, sleeping bag, snacks and drinks. We break camp in the morning whilst you hike. Includes transport to and from Trail (from our home base) and camping fees. Free parking for your vehicle at our home location.
3 nights / 4 days: 2 persons $850; 4 persons $1200.
4 nights / 5 days: 2 persons $1000; 4 persons $1340.
Camping is at Bear Beach, Chin Beach, Sombrio Beach, and Payzant Creek.
This Trail is often underestimated for its degree of fitness required. Many sections equal the West Coast Trail in difficulty, and unexpected weather changes.
This option opens up a challenging Trail and we pack all the tents and food! Best on the West Coast.

'MATTERHORN' MOUNTAIN:

Panoramic views of mountains, Juan de Fuca Strait and across to the Olympic range in the USA.
The summit is a rocky bluff 1600 ft. elevation.
Parts of the trail follow the old plank logging road from the 1920's.
Trail is through forest, some parts fairly steep. We hike through hemlock at the start of the trail, cedar, then fir and finally lodgepole pine at the summit.
Lunch and snacks provided.
7 hour day for fit and active persons.
2 persons, $95 per person; 3-6 persons, $65 per person.

Bookings require a deposit of $50 Canadian per person. We have a 14-day cancellation policy. Bookings cancelled before the 14 days will be refunded the deposit less 10% or $25 (whichever is greater). Bookings cancelled during the 14-day period, no refund of deposit. All PACKAGE tours require 50% payment 60 days prior to start of tour.
We have a 30-day cancellation policy. Package tours cancelled before the 30 days will be refunded the deposit less 10% or $25 (whichever is greater). Package tours cancelled during the 30-day period, no refund of deposit.
